The Dezie Cake Story

It started with a funeral program, a hand mixer, and a memory.  

Nearly 30 years ago, my great aunt Martha "Cake" passed away and in her funeral program was her coveted pound cake recipe.  Growing up, this pound cake attended every holiday and special occasion. Its buttery goodness melted in your mouth and surrounded you with love. 

Once I had the recipe in hand, a determination arose to craft the cake and the memory.  Ingredients in hand, I whipped up the cake.  Needless to say, that first cake was not crafted but at least it was edible. (I'm eternally grateful to the friends and family who were sacrificial taste testers.)

Several cakes later, when the taste and the memory finally joined as one, I was ready for the ultimate taste tester.  I packed up my cake and traveled across the country to my remaining great aunt to see if it matched her sister's cake.  It did.

Over the years, this cake has attended every special occasion and holiday.  It has been perfected. It has been gifted and shipped nationwide. But most importantly, it has been CRAFTED WITH LOVE.
